Zechariah 12
1 This message concerning the fate of Israel came from the Lord: “This message is from the Lord, who stretched out the heavens, laid the foundations of the earth, and formed the human spirit.

Zechariah 13
1 “On that day a fountain will be opened for the dynasty of David and for the people of Jerusalem, a fountain to cleanse them from all their sins and impurity.
8 Two-thirds of the people in the land will be cut off and die,” says the Lord.  “But one-third will be left in the land.

9 I will bring that group through the fire and make them pure. I will refine them like silver and purify them like gold. They will call on my name, and I will answer them.I will say, ‘These are my people,’ and they will say, ‘The Lord is our God.’”

Revelation 19
9 And the angel said to me, “Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding feast of the Lamb.” And he added, “These are true words that come from God.”

10 Then I fell down at his feet to worship him, but he said, “No, don’t worship me. I am a servant of God, just like you and your brothers and sisters who testify about their faith in Jesus. Worship only God. For the essence of prophecy is to give a clear witness for Jesus.

Psalm 147
10 He takes no pleasure in the strength of a horse or in human might.
11 No, the Lord’s delight is in those who fear him, those who put their hope in his unfailing love.
Sharing:  God is love
- He gives us our human spirit
- He cleanses us from all sins and impurity
- He refines one-third of us like silver and gold
- He tells devils that "These are my people," and we say, "The Lord is our God."
- He gives us Jesus, so we can testify our faith and give a clear witness for Jesus
- He delights in those who fear Him, and those who put our hope in His unfailing love
God is righteous and just
- He will cut off and let two-third of us die
- He takes no pleasure in the strength of a horse or in human might
- He will fight devils, the beast and will be victorious
We must fear Him and avoid sins, and we must put our hope in Him to win over the devils.   We are here on earth to witness Jesus, even we maybe weak, because the Lord is our God.  Please help us to understand you more and strengthen us to follow you steadfastly as we are facing another new year.  Thanks for leading us through this year with great blessings

20 (Revelation 20)
5 (The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended.) This is the first resurrection.
6 Blessed and holy are those who share in the first resurrection. The second death has no power over them, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with him for a thousand years.

Sharing:
The first resurrection fulfills God’s eternal plan giving grace to those who had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. Thus, the 2nd death which is the eternal death has NO power over them and they will reign with the Lord Jesus Christ for a thousand years.  As the plan was foretold by the apostle John, let’s hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for He who promised is faithful (Hebrews 10:23).

Psalm 146
3 Do not put your trust in princes, in human beings, who cannot save.
5 Blessed are those whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the LORD their God.

Sharing: It's natural for us to put our trust in human beings, whom we can see and get in contact with easily. But the Bible reminds us that human beings cannot save. When their spirit departs, they return to the ground; on that very day their plans come to nothing. In contrast with human beings, our God is the Maker of heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them— HE remains faithful forever. HE upholds the cause of the oppressed and gives food to the hungry. The LORD watches over the foreigner and sustains the fatherless and the widow.... Let's read the Bible consistently so that we can be reminded of a gracious and mighty God whom we should put our trust in.

Psalm 146

 1 Praise the Lord!
Let all that I am praise the Lord.
2 I will praise the Lord as long as I live.
I will sing praises to my God with my dying breath.
 3 Don’t put your confidence in powerful people;
there is no help for you there.
4 When they breathe their last, they return to the earth,
and all their plans die with them.
5 But joyful are those who have the God of Israel[a] as their helper,
whose hope is in the Lord their God.
6 He made heaven and earth,
the sea, and everything in them.
      He keeps every promise forever.

Rev 15:1        I saw in heaven another great and marvelous sign: seven angels with the seven last plagues--last, because with them God's wrath is completed.

Taking the view that the Rapture of the Church is to take place before the Tribulation (災前被提說) and the Armageddon is after the Tribulation, this verse must be understood by the sequence of events (see previous chapters): The seven Seals, the seven Trumpets, and now the final seven Bowls of the Wrath constitute the chief pre-Armageddon judgment. The seven Seals and the seven Trumpets are judgments in increasing severity. The seven bowls is the most severe one for the unrepentant ones who remain on earth after the Rapture of the saints---and is the final judgment, this is why the Bible calls it the “last plagues.” Do we see the loving-kindness of God in the midst of His Wrath? I believe so.

Sharing:

As a loving father, I know well that a child is not struck easy, medium, and hard all at once. First, the punishment comes the easy, then if there is no change, the medium, and finally the hard. Our God is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. He was full of mercy and slow to anger. But remember He remains the same today and to the end-time as He was in the Old Testament times. God is reluctant to pronounce judgment but He is righteous and He will not view sin as if it were not there. When the last judgment finally comes---however long time it takes, you can be sure it is swift and decisive. Thank God for reminding me of His holiness and His unfailing love---at the same time. Zechariah 1
1 In November[a] of the second year of King Darius’s reign, the Lord gave this message to the prophet Zechariah son of Berekiah and grandson of Iddo:
2 “I, the Lord, was very angry with your ancestors.
3 Therefore, say to the people, ‘This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies says:
Return to me, and I will return to you, says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.’
4 Don’t be like your ancestors who would not listen or pay attention when the earlier prophets said to them,
‘This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies says:
Turn from your evil ways, and stop all your evil practices.’

This verse vividly depicts the consequence of a person who dishonors his parents – they are considered “dead and left alone on the road” because we know that ravens and vultures are scavengers. In fact, in the book of Proverbs, mockers (褻慢人) who are “prideful” have been considered to be the most difficult persons to be corrected. Let’s be reminded again that pride would result in sins and thus distant us from God.

(TC)

What an astonishing statements! The psalmist praises the creation of the Lord not because of His mighty power or creativity, but because of His unfailing love.  The creation of the universe, and everything in it, is merely a manifestation of a loving father towards His children.  May we open our eyes to appreciate what our loving father has prepared for us.

fool gives full vent to his anger, but a wise man keeps himself under control (Proverbs 20:11).

Wisdom is not something we cannot grasp. God’s instruction here is so clear and so tangible. The Bible reminds me that if I can keep my anger in check, I will become wiser. The growth of my spiritual life is directly related to my effort of reading the Word

Hos 1:3      So he married Gomer daughter of Diblaim, and she conceived and bore him a son.

Hos 1:4      Then the LORD said to Hosea, "Call him Jezreel, because I will soon punish the house of Jehu for the massacre at Jezreel, and I will put an end to the kingdom of Israel.

Hos 1:5      In that day I will break Israel's bow in the Valley of Jezreel."

Hos 1:6      Gomer conceived again and gave birth to a daughter. Then the LORD said to Hosea, "Call her Lo-Ruhamah, for I will no longer show love to the house of Israel, that I should at all forgive them.

Hos 1:7      Yet I will show love to the house of Judah; and I will save them--not by bow, sword or battle, or by horses and horsemen, but by the LORD their God."

Hos 1:8      After she had weaned Lo-Ruhamah, Gomer had another son.

Hos 1:9      Then the LORD said, "Call him Lo-Ammi, for you are not my people, and I am not your God.

(No matter how deep our darkness, there is no pit so deep the love of God is not deeper still)

Say of your brothers, ‘My people,’ and of your sisters, ‘My loved one.’

Sharing:
The name transition from Lo-Ammi (not my people) to Ammi (my people) and Lo-Ruhamah (not my loved one) to Ruhamah (my loved one) is a symbolization of mercy and love that God bestowed upon the Israelites even after their rebellion and spiritual adultery with Baal. For us, it would be difficult to fathom how great God’s love is, all we can say is “How can it be”.

1 John 2
27 As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit—just as it has taught you, remain in him.

1 John 2:5 But if anyone obeys his word, God’s love is truly made complete in him. This is how we know we are in him:

Deuteronomy 10:12 And now, O Israel, what does the LORD your God ask of you but to fear the LORD your God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, to serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul,
Deuteronomy 11:22 If you carefully observe all these commands I am giving you to follow—to love the LORD your God, to walk in all his ways and to hold fast to him—
John 14:15 “If you love me, you will obey what I command.

The same command has been given to God’s people no matter in the New Testament or the Old, which is simply to love God.  But how?  To love God is not just a feeling or concept; it is to obey His commands.  The very first step to do this is to know and understand the commands, and then we need to humble ourselves and follow them.  May God help me to strive to know his command and have the humility to obey.
